The Why Behind SPI
From Problem-Solver to Planner
I’ve always been wired to jump in and help. As a kid, I was the one hauling boxes when friends moved, fixing things around the house, or showing up when someone needed me most. My life moto has been, “If there is a will, there is a way.” Helping others and solving problems has never been a chore for me—it’s what gives me energy.
Over time, I realized that instinct wasn’t just who I was personally—it was pointing me toward my professional calling. Financial planning became the perfect fit because it allows me to take what I do naturally—listen, identify solutions, and create clear paths forward—and use it to serve people in one of the most important (and stressful) areas of life: money.
Why Money?
Personal finances can be stressful. Money influences nearly every decision we make, yet it’s rarely talked about openly. Too often, financial planning feels like a maze of charts, jargon, and long reports that make things more confusing instead of clearer.
It doesn’t have to be that way. That’s why I started Simplified Planning & Investments—to cut through the noise and create a planning process that feels approachable, straightforward, and genuinely helpful. Instead of handing you a thick binder that sits on a shelf, I break things down into simple, actionable steps that fit your life.
Clarity Over Complexity
From day one, I built Simplified Planning as a fee-only firm. That means I don’t sell products or earn commissions. I’m compensated solely for the advice I provide—because I believe that’s how it should be.
That structure matters to me because trust matters. If we’re going to work together on your financial life—your goals, your family, your future—you deserve a process that’s transparent and free from hidden agendas.
More Than a Spreadsheet
I believe that financial planning isn’t really about money—it’s about fulfilling your life purpose. It’s about making sure your resources are aligned with your values and priorities. It’s about having a plan in place so that when big questions come up—Should I buy this house? Can I retire? How do I balance debt with saving?—you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Yes, we’ll look at investments, retirement, taxes, and insurance. But more importantly, we’ll step back and ask:
- What matters most to you?
- What do you want your future to look like?
- How do we make money a tool—not a stressor—for getting there?
That’s when planning shifts from being solely about money to seeing money as a tool to achieve your purpose.
Looking Ahead
Simplified Planning & Investments was created for people who want more than cookie-cutter advice. My goal is simple: to provide guidance that helps you make informed financial decisions with greater clarity and ease.
Money may always be complex—but your planning process doesn’t have to be and I am here to help!
